Nether Green Infant School PTA meeting held at Nether Green Infant School, Stumper= lowe Road, Tuesday 15th April, 7.45pm.

Sponsored Bounce.

 

The bouncy castle has been booked= and will be delivered on Tuesday afternoon. The whiteboard will be put up in = the school hall for people to sign up to help with safety spotting on the day= . It was also suggested to produce a flyer asking for volunteers and to distri= bute it to all parents via book bags. Pampered Chef Fundraising evening

 

Sylvia Bates attended the meeting= to give members more details on the Pampered Chef Evening. In summary the main po= ints shared:

 

-&= nbsp;     The event is being orga= nised by Sylvia Bates, Amanda Howarth and Louise Admani.

-&= nbsp;     To raise funds for the = PTA tickets to attend the event are to be sold at £1 – which incl= udes a free glass of wine. Parents will be encouraged to buy tickets in advanc= e of the event. Tickets will be available from the school office.

-&= nbsp;     Up to 15% of the sales = made at the event will be donated to the PTA

-&= nbsp;     The event will be adver= tised by a flyer in book bags, mini posters in all classrooms and a mention in = the school newsletter a week before the event.

-&= nbsp;     Sylvia and the team hav= e been very successful at getting raffle prizes, to hold a raffle at the event to raise further funds for the PTA

-&= nbsp;     Members present offered= to help promote the event by selling raffle tickets in the school foyer at morning drop off time.

Summer Barbecue

 

Leila reported that Madeleine was= happy to co-ordinate the summer barbecue with Tory’s assistance and lots = of PTA/parent volunteers to help on the day. Members present agreed to help wherever possible.

 

A short discussion followed about entertainment/activities for the event.

 

Last year the following were succ= essful:-

-&= nbsp;     Face painting

-&= nbsp;     Family Games

-&= nbsp;     Bouncy castles (one for pre-schoolers and one for older children)

 

Cinnamon suggested it would be us= eful to organise volunteers to organise the family games, which happened more in = an ad hoc way last year. Kate suggested that it would be worth contacting the Archie camp/After school Archie play leaders to investigate if they would= be available to run team games etc.

Refreshments for Sharing Assemblies

 

After a discussion about the adva= ntages and disadvantages of providing refreshments for parents at the sharing assemblies it was decided to put this on hold and consider providing refreshments at the Christmas plays in December.

 PTA Recruitment

 

It was noted that there were very= few new parents of reception children getting involved in PTA events. Kate and Am= anda have children in Mrs Ault’s class and agreed to speak to the recept= ion teachers about possibilities to promote PTA activities to parents.

 

It was also suggested to promote = events using flyers in book bags to reach parents who do not routinely come into school.

School Disco - Miss Ball mentione= d that the school hall was already being used on the night of the original date = set for the end of term disco. A new date was agreed – Friday 11th= July. Amanda agreed to oversee organisation of the event. Kate agreed to forward details of a new entertainer she had found through Sheffield NET mums.

 

Coffee Mornings – Di mentio= ned that it was very important to have enough volunteers at these events to ensure safety at the events.(i.e. not leaving teapot with hot water etc unattended)  Di to check wit= h Tori and Emma that they are still available to help run the coffee morning on = the 29th April.
