Saving Two Litre Bottle=
s
A few parents have
commented to the parents on the Eco Group and to me their disappointment in
being asked for 2 litre plastic bottles. As you know, we want to build a
greenhouse as part of our new garden project and need 1,500 bottles. I
understand that some parents don’t buy bottled water or drinks in 2 l=
itre
bottles and therefore it is unfair that their children should be excluded f=
rom
the sponsorship aspect of the project. I have also had a couple of comments
that it is not a healthy option to drink fizzy water or drinks usually
available in 2 litre bottles.
I would like the childr=
en
to create a greenhouse from recycled materials so The Eco Group and I have
agreed to continue to ask for bottles from those who have access to them bu=
t we
will no longer run it as a sponsored event. In the meantime, I have been bu=
sy
contacting plastic recycling companies asking for help as there must be so =
many
bottles out there that need recycling!
Mr Johnson will be sett=
ing
up a collection point for bottles somewhere in school, please look out for =
it.
Thank you.
The Kitchen Sink Show=
span>
The children will be experiencing The Kitchen Sink
Show next Wednesday. During lesson time the children will go on a “jo=
urney
around the kitchen” which opens up a world of science fun. It will be=
a
curious, messy, slimy world inhabited by the materials and objects of every=
day
life. The activities are designed to enhance science lessons and promote
investigative skills. The show will use everyday equipment, which often end=
s up
in the rubbish bin and is familiar to the children.
We hope they will enjoy the show and tell you all
about it at home so that you can have a go to!
