Reception
All our new Reception
children have started school now. We are really pleased they have joined us=
and
look forward to getting to know them and their families. Welcome.
Absence
If your child has an appointment during the day e.=
g.
hospital, doctor etc please collect an absence pass from the school office
before you go. You may get stopped if you are seen out and about with a sch=
ool
aged child during school hours and asked why your child is not in school. Y=
ou
may be asked to produce an absence pass. Thank you.
Recycling Plastic 2 Lit=
re
Bottles
Do you have any unwanted clear plastic 2 litre
bottles? If you do, please hold on to them ready to pass on to the School
Garden Group who have an exciting project ahead. There will be a prize for =
the
child you is able to collect the most bottles – we need at least 1500!
Look out for more information soon on a notice board in the hall.
Eco Week
We are busy organising a special week of Eco activ=
ities
for the children and on some occasions the grown-ups too. We will let you k=
now
more nearer the time but you might want to book Friday 29th Febr=
uary
into your diary now. This will be the last day of the week when the School =
will
be open in the afternoon for parents to come and see what we have been doing
and join in all the fun.
We are also organising a recycling of clothes
collection day. On Wednesday 27th February you will be asked to
bring along any unwanted clothes and shoes. These are collected, weighed an=
d a
payment made per tonne to the school and any money raised will go towards o=
ur
new school garden funds.
You will receive a letter about the clothes collec=
tion
nearer the time but please start saving now. Thank you.
Spanish Students
We welcomed a teacher training student from Spain =
this
week. She is working in Class 3 for three weeks. Two more Spanish students
arrive after half term for four weeks. We always look forward to them joini=
ng
us and hope to learn a little bit of Spanish as well as give them an insight
into the English educational system.
Pennies for Plants
Well done and thanks! We have just banked £6=
0 of
pennies from the bottle in the entrance. It is great to see it filling up
again. All this money will really help us buy plants for our new garden for=
all
the children. Thank you.

Warm Clothing
Please can parents ensure that children have enough warm clothing for playtime and lunchtime i.e. hats, gloves etc. Thank you.<= o:p>
PTA
There will be a PTA Meeting on Wednesday 30th=
January at 7.45pm in the school foyer. All parents are warmly invited to the
first PTA meeting of the term. They will be discussing plans for the next f=
ew
months in an informal meeting over coffee. Please come along, make some new
friends and find out more about the PTA and what they do for the school.
Snow Watch
We are now in the season when, for reasons beyond =
our
control, we may have to close our school because of snow, burst pipes or
heating problems etc.
If we find ourselves in a position where we have no
alternative but to close our school we can get a message to local radio
stations. So you are advised to tune in to either:
